Father John Misty‘s label Sub Pop, posted a photo of Josh Tillman himself in the snowy streets of New York holding a “karaoke machine he used to perform his new record in order to woo “industry execs” during NYC’s #snowpacalypse.” It would seem those referenced, “industry execs” may have been employees in the Spotify offices.
Like a lot of artists, Father John Misty does not seem to be thrilled with music streaming services. Common complaints include: suffering sound quality, and low, if any artist compensation. It should be noticed that the same day he performed for Spotify, he announced his own streaming service, SAP. (http://www.fatherjohnmisty.com/sap/).
Here he performs two hit singles! from his upcoming album, I love You Honeybear. So much streaming to be had! NO, the irony of blogging to make fun of online music is not lost.
