No official word on how Mayer Hawthorne’s skills transfer to the tool shed, but he seems to be confident when it comes to getting the job done. He claims “whatever’s broken, he’ll repair with some tender love and care”

A groovy, soulful tune from 2011’s How Do You Do sessions called, Handy Man has come to light in the form of an exclusive hammer-shaped usb flash drive. Hawthorne promises there is “no job too big, no job too small, [he] can fix it all”

Fresh off the Jake One-tandem funk project, Tuxedo, Mayer knows no chill. Though no details have come forth, Mayer has alluded to a new album on the horizon going back to his vintage soul sound. Who knows if Handy Man is any clue, but it’s not only a hammer, it’s a banger.

Per Mayer Hawthorne’s official soundcloud:

An unreleased soul stomper from the vaults. Handy Man was recorded during the ‘How Do You Do’ sessions, but was too late to make the album.

“Handy Man” is available now exclusively on a hammer USB flash drive at store.mayerhawthorne.com
