It seems the harsh political season in 2016 has perhaps inspired artists in new ways. Fellow Texans, Israel Nash and The Bright Light Social Hour have announced a collaborative, 3 song EP, Neighbors, which speaks to the cold realities of immigrants in this country at this time. Living in the Lone Star State, Nash and the boys of ‘Social Hour are first hand witnesses to the solidarity and bravery some of these folks face every day.
Today, they released Lupita, a beautifully narrated song about a Mexican couple seeking a better life in the United States. The entire EP has a similar empathetic theme, featuring Israel Nash’s signature voice and soundscapes. The Bright Light Social Hour add soulful vocal layers and deep percussion.
Neighbors will first be a digital release on November 4th, with a limited run of 500 limited edition 7″ vinyl being press on the 18th.
