MAKENESS DEBUTS PRECISE AND SMOOTH LP, “LOUD PATTERNS

By Ian Bremner

Scottish producer Kyle Molleson has slowly been keeping busy as Makeness since 2015’s Rogue EP. Recently signed to Secretly Canadian Records, he just released an entire record full of wavy electronic tunes that touch all parts of the soundscape.

Loud Patterns is mostly instrumental with a few vocal features like on tracks, Who Am I To Follow Love, Day Old Death and Stepping Out Of Sync, three album highlights. It’s partially disco, part punk and part industrial. The record is precise and meticulous and yet remains a very smooth listen. Makeness sounds equally comfortable in a European warehouse as he could in indie rock n roll clubs.
