As the world mourns the death of one-in-a-lifetime icon, Prince, tributes have been pouring in and out. What makes tributes special is each person’s interpretation of Prince, as his influence spreads beyond simply his fans. One artist in the modern world who perhaps most embodies Prince is undoubtedly D’angelo. His immense talent, style, sex-symbolism and mysterious nature all lend itself to the perfect way to honor Prince. D’angelo took stage on Jimmy Fallon with Prince cover band, Princess, led by Maya Rudolph, helping on background vocals. You can see the emotion all three singers are fighting through to complete this song, but it’s hard to blame them. Try to get through it without your face puffing up slightly.
