The career arc of Courtney Marie Andrews has been a slow burn. Perhaps her new material is the perfect metaphor for it. Fresh off the heels of her successful 2016 record, Honest Life, she is prepping her triumphant follow up, May Your Kindness Remain.

The first single and title track, starts as a slow, organ ballad, before bursting into the boisterous punchline. Courtney Marie Andrew’s soft echoing voice is taken to newer, soulful heights with the help of gospel-singing back up vocals by C.C. White.

May Your Kindness Remain is out on March 23rd on Mama Bird Recording Co and Fat Possum and signifies a slight shift from the country-tinged Honest Life. Admiring the great soul singers of our time, Andrews’ proves she can hang with any of them.
