There are reissue labels and niche collector labels, but Chicago’s Numero Group has made name for themselves in the world of bargain bin, deep dive record collectors. With various series like Wayfaring Strangers and Eccentric Soul, each release from the label focuses on a specific period of time, subculture, or forgotten genre.
Today, they focus on the origination of the “Girl Group.” The stylish beehive hairdos are certainly included, but only part of incredible songs recorded in the 1960’s by incredibly talented women. There are names you will recognize, but many more you will be so happy to now hear.
The record is out now by Numero Group on double LP sold HERE.
