Philadelphia by way of Anacourtes, Washington artist Karl Blau is known for a massive collection of DIY releases over the years. Though the details of how it came to be are few, his latest record Love & Harm, is a thing of beauty. A few of the songs have already been released in some version of itself, but Love & Harm is a cohesive alt-country leaning, yet completely genreless record that warms the soul. Blau’s slightly strained, baritone voice hangs over dripping pedal steel, strumming guitars and a lot of soul.
