Before you roll your eyes at the sound of “Father John Misty covering Arcade Fire” as the most “indie-indie hipster” collaboration possible, take a second to watch Josh Tillman sing his “buddy” Win Butler’s song. By a “second,” it is actually north of 6 minutes, but it feels like a second.
Among a list of corporate promotional stops for Tillman (Father John Misty), the b.b Gun Leather Shop shed in East Vancouver, BC seemed like genuinely good time and change of pace for him. Not to mention the 20 or so people who were in attendance.
