Idles is a band that rips so hard that sweat drips from the ceiling, there is a constant flow of stage divers and moshers, and they end their set with a full on chaotic, joyous jam session that involves throwing instruments in the air. They are ALSO a band that interacts with the crowd on a personal level, speaking to our human right to bodily autonomy and to the importance of building communities, supporting art, and staying hopeful in these disheartening times through genuine human kindness which they hope to foster at their shows. Damn, that’s my kind of fuckin’ band.
Their show at Neumos was the last on their U.S. tour; the band gave it their all, filling the sold-out house with amazing energy and spirit, with support from the also great Fontaines D.C. I hope Idles keep spreading the love, because we sure as hell need it.
